Elia Bruè wins the Frontiers of Science Award 2025

Elia Bruè, along with co-authors Aaron Naber (Princeton IAS) and Daniele Semola (ETH Zurich), has won the Frontiers of Science Award 2025, granted by the International Congress of Basic Science (ICBS). Their paper, "Fundamental groups and the Milnor Conjecture", makes a significant contribution to topology, offering fresh insights into fundamental groups and one of the most intriguing conjectures in modern mathematics.

This prestigious award, established in 2023 and supported by Beijing institutions, recognizes groundbreaking discoveries in Mathematics, Physics, and Theoretical Information Science. Each year, a global panel of experts evaluates the originality and impact of submitted papers.

Bruè, Naber, and Semola will receive the award in July 2025 in Beijing, where they will present their research to an audience of world-renowned scientists, further cementing their work's importance in contemporary mathematical studies.
