Bocconi Faculty Elected to Key Roles in the Italian Mathematical Union (UMI)

The recent elections held on May 25 have established the governing bodies of the Unione Matematica Italiana (UMI) for the next three years. Founded in 1922, UMI is a prominent association that unites the majority of Italian mathematicians, dedicated to fostering scientific research and disseminating knowledge in the fields of pure and applied mathematics.

We are proud to announce that two esteemed members of Bocconi University's Department of Decision Sciences have been elected to significant roles within UMI. Giuseppe Savarè has been appointed to the Scientific Commission, the executive body of UMI, and will also serve as the coordinator of the International Relations Committee. Additionally, Jacopo De Tullio has been named a member of the Committee for Communication and Dissemination.

Their election to these influential positions highlights the DEC Department's commitment to excellence in mathematical research and its strong presence within the international academic community.
